Well now, isn't that just DANDY!
You know, I've read a little bit about this Swine Flu going around ( who hasn't? That's just about all that is on the news!) Anyway, to be honest I have not really been too concerned about it because, as of now there has been nobody here effected by it. Well, not so much anymore. Apparently 2 kids just got back from a trip to Mexico, and the school nurse wanted them tested. Sure enough they tested positive! Although, Lily does'nt go to school there, she does have Girl Scouts with three girls who do. I just checked the local news up here, and all schools here are going to be closed tomorrow and Friday. I'm kind of glad we found out now, cause she would have gone to Girl Scouts this Friday. Needless to say it will be canceled too. I talked to one of the troop mother's, her daughter does go to the school in question, and she had no idea, just as shocked as me! I was a little pissed, that they new this yesterday, but let all of the kids go to school today! I would REALLY be ticked off it my child did go to that school, and they said nothing.
I do know, from what I've read, it is not suppose to be any more deadly than the regular flu, so this is why I did not pay too much attention at first, if this is true, then why be so secretive about it? I think somebody knows more than the average Joe, and they don't want a mass-hysteria situation. But who am I to guess!
I do realize that this thing might end up keeping some people who have their referrals from being able to travel for a little while. Also, there are rumors that the CCAA will not send out any more referrals for a while, at least until this starts to clear up I guess.
For those of you who are among the ones who already have your little ones photos, who could not possibly travel soon enough anyway, without this crap thrown into the mix, I'll be thinking of you daily (not that I don't already!) and sending mental hugs!
This is just CRAZY!
On a good note, I've got all day tomorrow and Friday with both my girls, so I just might post another video!

yeah and the baseball games going on...uh-hmmm....if you have girl scouts with them, you have GOT to be close (like us). Must chat soon....didn't realize you were near there.
I know. Sadly I read China Daily's report on this and there is a DIRECT quote that travel restrictions will in NO way effect the spread of ANY flu and this is a strain of THE FLU. And hello, 36,000 people DIE of the flu every year. Period.
Like you I am especially sad for those (Tracy, Melissa, Lisa) who have their cuties pictures in their hands and now may have to wait longer to bring them home.
I can give you a little more information. My husband works at a children's hospital. It is more deadly than the flu to young children and elderly. It starts as the normal flu but by day three it is killer. If you notice any flu like symptoms take your kids in asap by hour 48 for sure to be tested. It's a blood test. It is very contagious as well! It just hit my area as well. The school is closed. My husbands hopsital has not seen any cases yet but they are set up for them and expect them to start rolling in because of the exposure...good luck...just quarantine yourself...that's what I am doing!!!
I really wish I could figure out this video thing!!!!ugggg

Thanks for linking your blog. I hope that sharing our news and pain over the wait will make the rest of our journeys easier.
Glad to hear that you're still in the race!
