Halloween and other things!
First, I want to say thank you to all who sent cards, and posted such sweet comments. It really means a lot to me, and I know I am not alone, in my thinking that our pets are like our children, and are very much a part of our family, and work their way into our hearts.
We are doing O.k. for the most part, when I say we, I mean me. I think that the girls are still at the age, where they don't completely get that it is final. Just today, we passed by the vet, and Lily asked if Dakota was still there, if he was in a cage. I have told her over and over that he is not coming back, she acts like she understands, we have also scattered part of his ashes in the yard, but she is not upset at all by it. I guess I'm fortunate in the fact that they are at that age. I could not imagine if they were as upset as I have been.
Jack is still doing pretty good, he's such a sweet, SWEET boy. Normally, the dogs were in a seperate part of the yard, mainly because I did not want the girls stepping in doggy poo. I have been letting Jack out, and just leaving the gate open. He is really good, so far has not torn up anything, or touched anything. I've watched him, and usually even though the gate is open, if we are not out there he stays in the pen anyway. We brought him in the other night because the temp was below freezing outside. We have always done this, but I did not know how he would do the first time being alone. I put down a blanket in the laundry room, patted the floor, and he curled up and layed down. I did not however have the heart to close the door, so I put up a baby gate. I heard him barely whine one time, and then nothing for the rest of the night. Did I mention he's such a good boy?
Well, I finished making the girls costumes the other day, and cleaned up a corner of the play room to take some pictures. I can not help but to laugh every time I see Lily in her costume! Madilyn is adorable of course (if I do say so myself) but Lily is just hilarious!
She told me last year what she wanted to be this year, so I've had a whole year to think on it, I bought the fabric back in September, but kept putting it off, cause I just did not know how I was gonna go about making it. Madilyn's was easy, just normal kind of patterns, but for Lily's there was no pattern, had to wing it. So how do you think I did?
Cute huh? O.K. you can stop laughing now.
So we went outside to carve our pumpkin. I had to run back in to grab my camera.
The girls where just having too much fun to not capture it somehow.
I couldn't help it I caved in and gave him some, he LOVED IT! and found every little scrap.
I knew my boy was still here! I believe you can click on the pics to make them larger.
Hope you all have a great Halloween!

Anyway, I uploaded the pictures just now, and was struck by something. I love my camera, and it really takes great pictures. Now, I have heard before from some (ghost believing) people that sometimes orbs will show up, and that could be a ghost. Mind you, I've had this camera for a couple of years, and nothing has ever shown up like this before.
In the picture below, to the left of Lily, by the tree, there are four orbs in various sizes. I called my DH up to take a peek, and while he was coming up the stairs, I was explaining to him about the orbs, and how Dakota is still here with us, and right when he saw the picture, he said, it's a dog's face, and pointed to the fence, I had not even seen it until then, I was just looking at the orbs. But wow, it does look like him! It's to the right top of the little tree, in the right side of that larger orb. Also, in the left of the picture, there is a really big orb where Jack is sitting.
