Well, she did it! Lily made it through her first year of school!

There were times we just wondered if this was the right thing for her. We talked about maybe trying to homeschool, but my patience level would not have allowed it! In the end, we are pretty happy with it all! Thursday was her last day, and I have to say I was a little sad to see it come to an end. I am happy about not HAVING to get up quite so early for a while, but still, just a little bit sad. I know she liked going, and she made some friends, who we will try to see this summer. I have met several of the moms, and three of them have girls that are close to Madilyn's age, so we have all agreed to get together for play dates, not only for Lily's friends, but their siblings too. Hopefully it will help with the cabin fever through the long hot summer days! We are so proud of how far Lily has come in such a short amount of time.

I had asked her teacher if there would be any kind of Kindergarten graduation, and she said no, public school's don't do that. So, we had a little party of our own. I had made an ABC quilt for Lily, and gave it to her, she LOVES it, I will have to post pics of it, pretty cute have to say! We got her a little cake, and man it was good, it's sitting in the fridge taunting me now!!!

Hope next year she will have just as much fun!!!

Well, it was pretty easy coming up with three words for this weeks post!

My babies are the best things I have ever done in my entire life!

They make the sun shine everyday, even when it's pouring outside!

I am so lucky to have them, just can't wait to get my next one too!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the moms out there, the ones who already have their babies to kiss goodnight, and the ones waiting to!

Sorry I have not posted in a while, but to be honest, it's been pretty quite around here lately.

I was so looking forward to this time of year, I love watching the races, and have been rooting for someone to win the triple crown for the past SEVERAL years! Even when Madilyn was born, I was in my hospital bed, and I just HAD TO WATCH the Belmont Stakes, the third race, I don't remember what horse it was at the time, I think Cigar, but I was so bummed when he did not win.

The past couple of years though, I have had mixed feelings about the whole thing. I still love watching them, but hey I love horses so any chance I can get to see these amazing animals, I will! But ever since Barbaro I get a little anxious thinking who might be next.

I did not get to watch the Kentuck Derby this year, Lily had a Birthday party to go to, and I tried to leave early, but it just did not happen. DH called me on my way home, and wanted to know if I wanted to hear what happened. I was ready to walk in the house with my hands over my ears, and look it up myself. But he kept asking, but do you want to know WHAT HAPPENED! I asked if Big Brown won ( I did not want him to ) and he said yes, I wanted the filly to win, and he said, "well, she came in second, and then she collapsed." My heart sunk!

This whole thing should never even happen! It does simply because greedy people want the money.

Horses do not fully mature until they are around 5-6 years old. But they start trainging racehorses earlier around 1-2, and they are racing by three or sooner. Their bones are still growing! But the way the owners look at it, well, it costs money to keep the horses, and the sooner they train them the more money they can make. If they held on to them until they where 5-6, then it would cost the owners more ! SUCKS! but it's the sad, sad thruth.

I'm not gonna say I won't watch any more, cause that would not be me, but I sure do hope that they realize this is just cruel, and decide for some kind of changes! If you think it does not happen that often, think again. Just at one race track in California from 2004-2006 55 horses were put down because they broke bones. It's just we don't hear about the normal everyday races.

What a beautiful animal too!
