Hello Kitty!

Well, I was doing my nightly blog reading, and came across the cutest thing! There is a certain orphanage in Jiangxi (spelling?) province, were they use Hello Kitty chairs to take the referral pictures. Check them out here, www.julydragonflies.com/FengCheng/HKClub.htm

YEAH, I'M A PIG!

According to the Chinese Zodiac, I was born in the year of the Pig! 2007's new year starts today, and babies born this year are also Pigs. So will our baby be a pig? WHO KNOWS!!!
Here's a little info I found on the Pig people, and this year's Golden Pigs!
Intellectually curious, honest and tolerant, those born in the Year of the Pig can be relied upon for their loyalty and often make true friends for life.
Like the knights of old, Pigs are often highly regarded for their chilvary and pureness of heart, and will often sacrifice their own well-being for the greater good.
The Pig can be very naive, however, and may easily fall victim to the unscrupulous who take advantage of their idealistic nature - as Pigs see everyone as loyal and caring as they are. Although forced to play the fool many times, they will just as likely hold fast to the notion that everyone is at heart decent and admirable.
Stubbornly optimistic, the Pig will not tolerate those with well-meaning advice on how to be a Pig, but since they dislike quarreling and discord their anger usually cools quickly. Sometimes looked upon as a snob, the Pig just finds it right and natural to exhibit good manners whenever possible. Their main goal in life is in serving others, and no matter how difficult circumstances become the Pig will never waiver or retreat, forging ahead in the sure knowledge that all will be well.
Pig people love to read, are generally thirsty for knowledge, and not readily talkative, but if presented with an opportunity to discuss topics of interest with like-minded individuals Pigs may find themselves talking non-stop for hours!
People born in the Year of the Pig are trusted associates in whatever career they happen to choose and often shine as entertainers, social activists or politicians.

The lunar calendar gives each year one of 12 zodiac signs with years rotating through the five elements - gold, wood, water, fire and earth. Children born when the "Year of the Pig" coincides with the element of gold are said to be blessed with exceptional wealth, happiness and prosperity. The golden luck of the child is supposed to rub off on the parents. That might explain why the Shanghai Population and Family Planning Commission expects 7,000 more births in that city alone. This year of the "Golden Pig" occurs only every 60 years.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I was searching for Valentine's Day clip art today, and I found this poem, and thought it was too cute!
Hope ya'll enjoy it now, ya hear!
Redneck Valentine
Kudzu is green, my dog's name is Blue
And I'm so lucky to have a sweet thang like you.
Yore hair is like cornsilk a-flapping in the breeze.
Softer than Blue's And without all them fleas.
You move like the bass, Which excite me in May.
You ain't got no scales But I luv you anyway.
You're as graceful as okry Jist a-dancin' in the pan.
Yo're as fragrant as SunDrop Right out of the can.
You have all yore teeth, For which I am proud;
I hold my head high When we're in a crowd.
On special occasions, When you shave yore armpits,
Well, I'm in hawg heaven, I'm plumb outta my wits.
Still them fellers at work They all want to know,
What I did to deserve Such a purty, young doe.
Like a good roll of duct tape Yo're there fer yore man,
To patch up life's troubles And stick 'em in the can.
Yo're as strong as a four-wheeler Racin' through the mud,
Yet fragile as that sanger Named Naomi Judd.
Yo're as cute as a junebug A-buzzin' overhead.
You ain't mean like no fire ant Upon which I oft' tread.
Cut from the best pattern Like a flannel shirt of plaid,
You sparked up my life Like a Rattletrap shad.
When you hold me real tight Like a padded gunrack,
My life is complete; Ain't nuttin' I lack.
Yore complexion, it's perfection, Like the best vinyl sidin'.
Despite all the years, Yore age, it keeps hidin'.
And when you get old Like a '57 Chevy,
Won't put you on blocks And let grass grow up heavy.
Me 'n' you's like a Moon Pie With a RC cold drank,
We go together Like a skunk goes with stank.
Some men, they buy chocolate For Valentine's Day;
They git it at Wal-Mart, It's romantic that way.
Some men git roses On that special day From the cooler at Kroger.
"That's impressive," I say.
Some men buy fine diamonds From a flea market booth.
"Diamonds are forever," They explain, suave and couth.
But for this man, honey, These will not do.
For you are too special, You sweet thang you.
I got you a gift, Without taste nor odor,
Better than diamonds it's a new trollin' motor.
-author unknown-
I hope you all have a Happy Valentine's day! My honey brought home my favorite desert from Romano's Macaroni Grill. I've mentioned it before in one of my "tagged" posts. You have to try this if you have one close by. They are called desert raviolli, and OMG are they heavenly!!!

See you later Alligator!

Saying goodbye seems like such a final thing to say to a loved one. We say it every day, but we don't really mean it, do we? I mean the majority of the time, we say it knowing that we will see that person again at some point in the future. When I was little we always (instead of goodbye) said "see you later alligator" and in response, the other would say "after while crocodile." It just sounds more appropriate. So now my kids say it ( actually Madilyn mixes them together, but that's o.k. she gets the jist of it) It's fun that way!
Well, last week, I had to say goodbye to a man that meant so much to me. My Grandfather, who was such a sweet fella, passed away at the age of 87. We kind of knew it might be coming, he had Alzheimer's for several years, but he still knew everybody. It took a turn though, back in October, and he had to go into a nursing home. I HATED that, and knew he would have hated it too, and I know it was a hard thing for my Uncle's to do. Any way, my mind is set on the fact that we WILL see each other again some day, so to this man, the most WONDERFULLY SWEET GRANDADDY, I say to you "see you later alligator!"
MUCH LOVE!!!
