Oh, we got a surprise in the mail today! To be honest I had actually (almost) forgotten about getting this. We got our "Brown Envelope" today. For those who do not have a clue as to what I'm referring to, well this is a packet from the U.S. Consulate in China, saying that they have received our file from the USCIS office here. What's it in you may ask? Well, lets take a peek.

1- A Letter that is just explaining things.
2- A welcome letter from the adoptions unit in Guangzhou (pronounced Guan-Joe)
3- A map of the U.S. consular section location and surrounding area.
4- Application for immigrant Visa (for our daughter to be able to leave China)
5- Consulate medical exam form (for her)
6- Affidavit concerning exemption from immigrant vaccination requirements for foreign adopted child.

So in a nut shell, it is just some more paperwork that we have to keep up with during this LONG wait.

Congratulations!
We were kind of befuddled when we got ours - it's an odd little packet of stuff if you ask me. But hey, and sign of progress is a good one in my book! ;-)

Doesn't it feel good to have something to hold! I have mine in the Dining room. It almost looks like part of the decor...well it does not me. Others just don't get it. I love to walk through and see it and smile!

Congratulations!!! It's nice to feel like you're one step closer to getting your baby. Makes it more tangible somehow. Make sure you and your hubby go out and celebrate!
